Project KidsConnect

Our Beliefs:

Project KidsConnect is committed to supporting young people to create and live a life they love.

It’s all about supporting young people to discover and express the truth of who they are, so they can be their best and make a real difference in the world.

We believe young people create great lives when they:

• Feel safe and supported
• Have confidence in themselves
• Have a sense of belonging and connection to other people
• Feel heard and understood
• Can make a contribution that is recognised and valued
• Are supported, encouraged and challenged to reach for the stars
• Have a sense of physical, mental and spiritual balance
• Know they are loved and have people who believe in them
• The chance to think and grow outside the box

Project KidsConnect offers kids and their family’s opportunities to participate in a range of programmes designed to promote every one of these experiences. We undertake projects that give young people a safe and supportive place to share their stories, experiences, strengths, frustrations and dreams. We are also driven by a belief that every young person has the right to be supported to develop the self-belief and the real-world strategies they need to achieve their full potential and dream their biggest dreams.

Our Programmes:

The projects run by Project KidsConnect are built on a foundation of Connection, Contribution and Leadership. All our programmes build strengths, skills and abilities in children, young people and their families. We offer group, school and family programmes that focus on improving self-belief and confidence and build young people’s natural capacity for resilience and emotional awareness. Information about the specific programmes we are offering at any given point in time is available on the Project KidsConnect website. Our program schedule for 2012 will include programmes run in Australia and New Zealand and shortly after that we plan to extend into SE Asia. Most of our programmes are activity based and interactive, many of which are designed by young people themselves – all of which have been reviewed by our Youth Advisory Group – The Project KidsConnect Street Team.

Programme Leadership:

The primary leadership at Project KidsConnect is provided by Heather Yelland and you can read more about Heather below by click on her picture. Heather has connected with people she believes are leaders in their field, to provide and support other programmes offered through Project KidsConnect, such as the world renowned SuperCamp and the Green School Bali. Whilst Project KidsConnect is a relatively new venture, Heather has over 40 years’ experience as well as professional training in providing services to young people and their families.

Youth Leadership:

We also aim to create opportunities for young people themselves in the delivery and implementation of programmes, so as to build communication, facilitation and leadership skills. These opportunities are made available to young people with particular skills, qualifications and experience, as well as to those who show an interest in and dedication to assuming leadership roles. If you are a young person interested in developing your leadership, facilitation and support skills, please contact us at info@projectkidsconnect.com
